Practice Manager | Permanent Full Time (64+ hours per fortnight)

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and people focused Practice Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations and running of our multidisciplinary paediatric allied health service.

  • About the role:

    The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and running of the business, lead and inspire our customer service team (Client Services Team) and provide operational and cultural leadership to the business and team. 

    You will work closely alongside our Owner in managing and developing strategy, processes, and financial planning/ reporting of the business. You will lead, support and collaborate with our leadership team to maintain general office morale, uphold our Team Culture standards, and support all team members across the team.

    In this position, you will be responsible for:

    • Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the business, including customer service, HR, workplace health and safety, and facilities, ensuring high performance and quality standards are maintained or achieved

    • Providing strong, clear leadership to the business, fostering strong relationships with and within the team, motivating them and guiding them, and maintaining a strong and supportive team culture

    • Ensuring systems and processes are efficient, effective and compliant with relevant standards, and that policies and procedures are followed

    • Collaborating with the Owner in setting and driving the organisational vision, operational strategy, and overseeing the success and sustainability of the business

    • Stakeholder and community engagement, managing feedback and complaints, and assist with marketing to ensure families and our community know about our service and how we can help

    • Administering, reviewing, and improving our existing HR processes, and managing payroll with our bookkeeping service

    • Financial and business performance review and analysis, including preparation and ongoing review of the annual budget with our Owner and bookkeeping service

  • Essential skills and attributes:

    • Experienced in allied health or professional services businesses, with experience in managing or supervising teams.

    • Proven track record in leading and motivating a team, with a collaborative, empathetic and supportive management style.

    • Strong organisational, situation analysis and problem skills, and a positive and proactive approach to creating and implementing effective solutions.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with healthcare professionals, clients, and other stakeholders.

    • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.

    • Proactive and self-motivated work ethic, with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively depending on the situation.

Psychologist | Full Time

Move and Play Paediatric Therapy is a leading multidisciplinary paediatric allied health service based in Mackay and Airlie Beach. We are an experienced multidisciplinary team of OT's, Physio's, Speechie's and AHA's, and we pride ourselves on looking out for each other, working collaboratively, delivering high quality client-centred outcomes for children and families, and serving our community.

  • As a Psychologist with Move and Play, you will be responsible for supporting children and adolescents, and their families with a variety of developmental, neurodevelopmental, disability, or mental health presentations. Our service uses a collaborative family centred approach and delivers supports using a mix of in clinic and community-based services. 

    You will work both independently and collaboratively with the rest of the team to provide therapeutic supports for children and, when relevant, their family members. Therapeutic interventions may include individualised 1:1 sessions, small group therapy, telehealth-based therapy, as well as workshops and seminars.   

    To support the growth of our clinic, we are very excited to introduce Psychology as an additional service and discipline. As this position will be new, we will work alongside you and an external mentor to establish a clear scope of practice that combines both our service goals and your clinical strengths and experience. We have established clinical and professional development programs, including internal and external mentoring and career development pathways, to enable your continued learning and growth.  

      • An amazing multidisciplinary team to be part of. We work closely together, offer joint appointments with 2 or 3 disciplines, and support each other to provide holistic quality care to children and families. 

      • Flexible work and roster options – A variety to choose from including 4-day week, 9-day fortnight, 4 ½ days a week, work from home days or half days - we are dedicated to ensuring your roster suits your lifestyle! 

      • Structured in house mentoring with an experienced team of senior therapists and team leaders. We will set you up with an external mentor to provide you with the specific support needed for your clinical practice. 

      • Diary schedules that ensure you have enough time to do ‘all the things’ - we have dedicated time for report writing, non-face to face activities, mentoring, meetings etc. 

      • 15 minutes minimum of dedicated preparation and planning time before or after every appointment so you have time to reflect and plan for each client session. 

      • Flexible ‘project block’ hour in your diary each day that you can use for client related activities, mentoring, or completing projects. 

      • Team lunches, social activities, and team R&R sessions to connect with each other and keep our vibe high. 

      • Professional development allowance and leave to help you attend training and events.
